# TAKEN > A browser-based first-person UFO horror game set on an isolated farm in rural Montana. You work the land by day and survive escalating alien encounters by night. Built in Three.js and WebGL, it runs free in any modern browser with nothing to install. TAKEN is a free, no-install survival horror game playable instantly at https://www.taken-game.com. It is a single-player first-person experience built with TypeScript, Vite, and Three.js. The mood is slow-burn dread over jump-scares: a Red Dead Redemption-flavoured frontier palette of parchment, amber, and lamplight, with a full real-time day/night cycle, hand-tuned ambient audio, and procedurally generated mountains. ## How to play - Move with WASD, look with the mouse, sprint with SHIFT, jump with SPACE, crouch with C. - Drive the farm truck (enter with E), plant and harvest corn (F), and fish the pond (G). - Hold right mouse button for the torch (battery-limited; recharge from glowing battery pickups). - Middle mouse button raises binoculars to scan the treeline and the sky. - Press T to speed up time. Click the screen to lock the mouse and play; ESC releases it. - Daytime is for chores and objectives. Encounters happen at night and get worse each night. ## The loop - Night 1: a silent "watcher" alien stands at a distance, always facing you, and vanishes if you approach. - Night 2 and beyond: a "hunter" walks toward you, slow enough to flee but relentless. If it reaches you, the abduction cutscene plays: a UFO descends on a beam, the screen whites out, and the word TAKEN appears. - A UFO hovers over the homestead at night and bolts if you hold a direct line of sight on it. - Hide in the cornfield, manage your torch battery, and complete daily objectives (deliver corn to the silo, gather evidence) while staying out of the sky's reach. ## Key facts - Genre: first-person survival horror, atmospheric / slow-burn, alien abduction theme. - Platform: web browser (desktop), WebGL.
